Epic and Crave-Worthy Tuna Sandwich
Delicious and crave-worthy, this Epic Tuna Sandwich is simple and satisfying.
Equipment
- Sharp knife
- Toaster
- Medium size bowl
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread – organic sprouted whole grain
- 1 can albacore tuna – 5 oz solid white wild caught or dolphin safe
- 2 tbsp organic mayonnaise
- 1/2 Haas avocado – firm but not hard
- 2 slices tomato -ripe and round, I like hot house tomatoes
- 1 slice red onion
- 1 spear kosher dill pickle Mt. Olive is my favorite brand
- 1 pinch salt – I like pink Himalayan sea salt
- 1 pinch pepper – fresh cracked
Instructions
- Open tuna can and drain the juice
- Put tuna in the bowl
- Mix in 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 Slice red onion – diced medium fine
- 1 Pickle spear – diced medium fine
- Mix in the onion and pickle into the tuna and mayo
- Cut 2 slices of tomato
- 1/2 avacado – either sliced thin or mashed
- Toast the bread
- Start the build!
- Spread the other tbsp of mayo on both pieces of toast
- Place or spread avocado on bottom piece of bread
- Carefully pile up the tuna mixture
- Place the tomato slices on top
- 'Lid' the sandwich with the top piece of toast
Notes
If you want, you can add cheese and lettuce to make this sandwich even more epic.
